Describe your current position.

In my current position as a Pursuit Associate in the Marketing department at HITT Contracting, I’m responsible for leading the strategy, coordination, writing, editing, layout, and production of qualifications packages and proposals. I collaborate with our project teams to develop interview presentation strategy and lead the development of interview materials including digital presentations and interview books/placemats. I also manage and produce industry and project-specific award submissions. I generally work with our Healthcare and Government sectors, guiding them as they need marketing support while maintaining project and team knowledge.

Describe your career history (years of experience, previous employment, etc.).

After graduating from Radford University in 2012, I explored IT sales and recruiting. In 2013 I stumbled upon an opportunity to join the AEC industry and began working at HITT Contracting as a proposal coordinator for our Government sector where I focused on technical proposals. In January of 2016, I transitioned into HITT’s Marketing department where I look forward to continuing my professional growth.

What attracted you to CREW NoVA?

I’ve been to a number of CREW NoVA events before joining and felt inspired being surrounded by like-minded women in our industry. Since becoming a member I have joined the Communications Committee, assisting with social media, and have enjoyed working and getting to know the women in my committee. I’m excited to meet more members and grow my network!

Name a woman that inspires you and why.

Of course my mother first came to mind because she’s inspired me since day one, quite literally. Aside from my amazing mother, I’ve also been inspired by Oprah Winfrey. Being named one of the world’s most generous celebrities, Oprah has built her own empire and is all about spreading love, care, and generosity worldwide.  Most recently, her Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech at the 2018 Golden Globes was epic, fearless, and continues to give me hope that “a new day is on the horizon.”

Tell us about your family.

A majority of my family is from Massachusetts which is where I lived until I moved to Northern Virginia in third grade. With that being said, go Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins!!!

Fun fact

I am getting married in Turks and Caicos in 2019!
