Howard is responsible for new business origination and development in the Mid-Atlantic with a focus on office, life science and mixed-use properties.  He most recently originated a consulting assignment with a health system to supervise the master planning and entitlement of a 75-acre property along the Main Line in Philadelphia, PA, as well as a development management assignment with the owner of a super regional mall in Tysons Corner, VA to plan the redevelopment of a former department store into a 600,000 square foot office and multifamily building.  He serves as the Project Officer for the latter assignment.

Previously, Howard was responsible for the development or redevelopment of 4.0 million square feet and the acquisition and asset management of another 4.0 million square feet.  A career highlight was his role as Project Officer with day-to-day responsibility for the 10-acre, 1.5 million square foot CityCenterDC development, which includes office, multifamily, for-sale condominium, luxury hotel, retail and public space components.  Howard took direct responsibility for the positioning, marketing and leasing of the retail space in the project.

Howard joined Hines in 1992 and over the course of his tenure, has participated in several firm-wide and East Region initiatives, relating to Best Practices, Security Review, Retail, Multifamily Housing, Sustainability and Marketing.

Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.  He has participated on multiple boards for industry, community and educational institutions and has served in leadership roles for a number of these organizations.
